The return of TV?

I watched a lot of TV two years ago. When I made my Fall TV schedule (because that was something I did), I had over thirty shows scheduled. I know-- that is ridiculous. At the beginning of last year, I decided to spend less time in front of a screen (TV, computer, phone) and more time in front of paper (reading, writing letters, journaling, art). It's been great, but I have to say, I have missed watching television. I will watch a show or two at a time, but that's it. It was one of the ways I would stay on top of what was happening in pop culture.

I've been off social media for a few weeks and I'm amazed at how much time I'm getting back. What have I been doing with all that time? Well, some of the usual suspects-- reading, writing, putzing around with cat + friends. But I started watching more TV again! There has been a little spike in the amount of stuff I've been watching, but it's been a lot of fun and it probably won't take up as much time for me moving forward.. most likely an episode of West Wing or TNG here and there. Anyway, here's what I've been watching:

Game of Thrones- Of course! This one was really fun because I'd have people come over every week to watch. Sad the season is over. Not really sure if it belongs on this list since it's been ongoing since before this break. Whatever, honorable mention.

Orange is the New Black- Season 2! Went through that pretty quick. One of those shows that I like watching but one that I watch with two sets of eyes. I finished the season within the week.

Firefly- I watched Serenity (the movie version of this show) with E on Friday, and by Monday or Tuesday, I was done with the series! Which sadly, ended after one season. Tragic. Which, by the way, is the only way a space western drama should end.

True Detective- This show is so good, and I am ONE EPISODE away from finishing. D and I have been watching this show and even though I have HBO Go, I haven't been able to binge watch this show because he insists on drawing it out. And we only get to watch it maybe once a week because of his work/fire schedule. I thought I was going to finish it on Tuesday. We had two episodes left, but then he insisted on waiting until next week to finish. I will probably be glad later, but right now I really want to finish the show! And damn, is the Matthew McConaughey in True Detective really the same Matthew McConaughey in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and all those other romantic comedies?! And can we talk about how he and Woody were also in EdTV and Surfer, Dude together? Cray.

Someone once told me, "Time is a flat circle." Everything we've ever done or will do we're gonna do over and over and over again.

I may or may not have also started watching The Real Husbands of Hollywood. I don't know how that happened. NMMDI (Netflix Made Me Do It).
